The Stafford Reading Center is not a general tutoring facility; however, it is a group of seasoned Reading professionals with the knowledge to correct reading deficiencies.  Our practices are supported by research and the science of reading.  Each member of the team has advanced training and experience working with students and teachers.

Reading is the foundation for all academic skills.  Underperformance in reading derives from many factors.  Our team is dedicated to identifying the root of the deficiency to determine the best approach for remediation.  We are currently serving the Oviedo, FL area for face-to-face instruction.  Online instruction is offered on a case-by-case basis.

Dr. Tammy Stafford

Doctor of Curriculum and Instruction - Reading Specialist

Orton-Gillingham Dyslexia Therapist, Certified Level

FL Certified Reading Teacher

I  began teaching struggling readers at Seminole High School in 2008.   Since then, I have served as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida, as a private literacy consultant to public schools, and as a reading teacher in the public school system.  I was introduced to the Orton-Gillilngham Approach when my son was diagnosed with dyslexia.  His diagnosis was a shock, especially after his proficient score on the state reading exam.   I took a course through the Orton-Gillingham Academy to learn how to support him, and have been in love with the Orton-Gillingham Approach ever since.  I am currently working at the Certified Level and under the mentorship of an academy fellow so that I can train teachers.  My goal is to build a much-needed Orton-Gillingham community in Oviedo.
